The F V M C C story PAGE 3
Saturday dawned for us a second time at about 8:00 in the evening as after drinking a few more beers we had retired to our tent for a wee snooze.
We piled out our tent to see Annie chinning a coupla local youths who were wandering around the camp site. She was leaving them without question as to their safety should they decide to try and remain in the rally site. Me thinks the words were "F*&^ off or Die". They left.
It was back down to the bar for us and time to get started back into the party. Having just woke up it was taking a wee while to warm to the atmosphere until Big Bob handed us a glass of Poiteen. The real McCoy and picked us right out our slumber. Cheers Bob.
We headed into the bar quite early so as to procure a seat each as things were getting busy. We settled in beside Chris and Joan and began to party proper.
There were three bands on the Saturday night. The first was a young band 'The Sock Puppets' who we never actually got to see coz we were too late but by all accounts they were no bad and had the Saints'n'Sinners crowd partying right away.
Next up was another young band the 'Easy Lays' who had a totally professional sound, I think. The poiteen had kicked in now and was arguing with the beer in me gut which in turn was making my head light and my eyes swirl. Time for more beer then.
At some point in the evening I remember a raffle was drawn but I dont think we won anything. At least we didnt come home with any brand new items that looked like they might have been raffle prizes. I think we were out in the smokers area when this was happening. Back into the hall for the awards ceremony. Half way through there was a call for a registration plate that somewhere through the haze that was my mind sounded vaugely familliar. It was Big Billy who recognised it first. "Thats your bike they're shoutin oot for", "Canny possibly be" says I "I heard the word 'BEST' in the title and that could never be used to describe my bike". I approached the committee folk who were still continuing wi the awards. Asking Al what kind of Suzuki it was that had won he replied " Dunno". Sharon read the number again and it sounded familiar. "Aye its familliar because its mine". Me first ever award given for "Best Classic". I'd expected grot bike or something but not Best Classic. Turns out it was the only Classic there. Anyhoo it won the award and I'm eternally gratefull to the judges for the wee trophy.

Other folk won awards as well but mine was most important.
After the awards it was the turn of Apparition to provide the remainder of the evenings entertainment. Clark and the lads played a sterling performance as usual and had most folks on their feet at some point in time. Even I had a wee whirl later on.

"Chris the Ninja"
After chucking oot time it was back down to the garage gazebos to while away the night in good company.

There was a fella from the Tallisman there with an acoustic guitar strumming away a few tunes setting a chilled wee ambiance. The young fellas from the band Easy Lays arrived and joined in. The sing song went on until about four in the morning when the drink finally took over the decision making and dragged me off to bed.
All in all a fantastic wee rally and one not to miss next year.
All that remains to be said is a big thanks to the Talisman MCC.
